Question Geneva on the lake

Will be there in the state cottages the 4th - 11th. Never been there before. Bait shops? Launch ramp? Should I launch each day or rent a dock? Have a boat full of stuff. Any info on eyes and/or perch. Lots of questions because I want my wife to have a good time. (Well, me too) Thanks.

Trollin'

We are docked at geneva.Marina has bait shop. A few other places around town several on 534. And karrans is great little place off 534 coming north off 90 riight at light before bp/dunkin donuts small place on left look close or youll miss it. Ramps are first class, just pulled our boat to clean the gunk off bottom. There is daily dock rental, but if your not too big i would just pull it out. Mairina is safe, but you never know. Heard perch were in 52ft right in front of the cabins you are staying in. Head ne out of marina two miles or so. Walleyes head nne at about a 30 heading oh about13 miles. Should put you in thick of them. Look for boats. We pull boards and dipseys. Harnesses behind 3oz bacck anywhere from 100-130 and dipseys at 1 back 75-105 and 3.5 back 130-18(185) works for us. Spme guys pull tru trips 50s back 125-200 with spoon or harnesses. Basically have to get bait down 40- 50 ft range. Buy lots of crawlers if harnesses are your game plan. Check bait, often. Every five to ten minutes. Seriously. good luck when you get out. If were out, we answer to firesnoop on68 we fish about twice a week. Have fun trollin and if all else fails take wife for wine at one of the wineries. Old mill wine burger and sangria, will get you out of doghouse.

Default thanks so much

Wow, that's a lot more info than I expected to get. I will call for you on 68. Name of boat is "business". Called it that so my secretary could tell people that "I'm out on business today".

To fish in front of the State cottages you would head northwest out of the marina. Just trying to avoid the confusion of a new place.

firesnoop filled you in pretty good on where to fish. and cableguy is right about the direction. the best perch fishing out of geneva is alittle nw of the inlet. and if you decide to just trailer your boat, the geneva ramps are a+. they have about 6 or 8 ramps. they use all of them but 1 or 2 in the morning for launching. then as the day goes on they switch them around. your not going to be but a couple of miles from the marina and ramps.

if you just need bait the marina usely has what you need. but you can go back up to 534 and turn right, there is bait shops on both sides of the road. if you need tackle or reels, rigger weights planer boards or any thing like that, go to karrens shop. the best directions i can give you is keep going on 534 you will pass a giant eagle store on your left. keep going until you come to a red light with a big gas station on your right. turn left at that light. its only about 1/4 mile on your left, you have to watch real close. its just a house the the front has been converted into a tackle store. you wouldnt believe all the stuff they have in there from the outside. i did have there phone no# but i cant find it right now. but this should get you there. the best of luck to you.

Karran's shop is 440-466-3561, 413 South Ridge Road, East Rt 84, 1/4 mile East of Rt 534, Geneva, Ohio.

you will miss it the first time as it is a small house (filled with fishing gear) on left as you drive East. also, don't take the boat with you if possible as there is no parking there for any size boat. you may be able to park somewhat further east and walk back. parking is tight for just my full size truck...

There's a bar in Geneva on the Lake that will cook your fish for you. It's called the Survivor Lounge and is on the east side of the strip..We brought in a big bag of walleye and they cooked it up, served it with fries & coll slaw. There were 5 of us and we each had a beer and the bill was under 50.00...
