Default conny 6/7

Went back today. Tried to help a friend and guess what... yep! We got up at 4:00 went to conny were a friend was suppose to be waiting. Well he decided to sleep in. He wanted to launch his boat so he could tie to dock. But needed help because of injury. We were there before 6 he shows finally at 7:15. Never fails.
On the water by 8:00 and the report was they moved deep. Don't believe it! Went to the 48-50 east were they said after pulling anchore 6-8 times We started West. Finally ended up in 29-30 ft. 1 mile and a quarter west on the wall. Fishing was super slow. Lots of garbage again,.Sure a lot of people catching white bass and keeping them, LOL Not really sure whats going os morning but may be a front or something. Skipping tomorrow because of doctor appt. But will hit again Sat and Sun. I think. Waves were 1 ft this morning and build to solid 2's. When we left at 2;00 they were 2-3 with a few 4's mixed in. Packs of boats every where but after talking to quite a few today I found they were looking to. 6 hours fishing with My buddy, wife mother in law and his grand son and the best we could do was 26. Now that's some hard fishing. Hope you all did better! Stilll had a great day on the water!

Default Bula

As Always Viper1, Thanks for the Perch Report!
Hopefully this weekend, we'll be up for some perch.

We went to Bula, 2 boats 4 guys. Filled both coolers by 1 (pan fish). Caught
95% males guarding their nests,,, they're getting smaller,,, gobs of BABIES, by the thousands, in the grass!
Maybe another week left,,,, hard to tell with the HOT/COOL TEMPS & windy weather changes.
Water temp inside the wall was 62*. Only went to 63* by the time we left.

IF THERE IS ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT CAN'T SEEM TO CATCH ERIE SMALLIES RIGHT NOW<<< SELL YOUR FISHING STUFF,,, BUY SOME GOLF CLUBS!
We landed about 20, up to 3#ers. WE TRIED 'NOT' TO BOTHER THEM,,, THEY ARE ON THEIR NESTS EVERYWHERE. NOBODY SHOULD BOTHER THEM RIGHT NOW.

There were only 4 perch boats just NW of the red marker and they didn't last long. I didn't get a chance to talk to any of them but by the way the ladie at the bait shop was talking, Perch'n wasn't very good! She said that the winds/ waves scattered the schools (little pods) of fish that were just starting to group up.
There were HUGE marks everywhere in the shipping channel! We shoulda put on worm harnesses and drifted for a while, just to see, but with a butt-load of fish to clean, we packed up and left.

Default Bula

Thanks for the report Doboy! Yes the Perch were not very cooperative but the ones we brought home were all over 11.5 inches with several extremely nice Jumbos. The wife was lifting one in the boat and it kicked off. I believe it was well over state record. Hugest perch I ever seen. And take my word I have seen some large perch. It was built more like a 3lb smallmouth then a perch. My guess was 20 -21 inches and at least 3-4 lbs. Ruined my whole day and every one elses on the boat. This size and weight guess is from 4 separate people and 2 seasoned perch men. But I think we lost a really record breaker. LOL Hopefully these fish reschool soon and lose this lock jaw. But all in all a great season so far, a lot of new memories being made and as always a lot of great time on the water.

Default hmm

Oh yes, Small mouth are every where. And if you enjoy white bass they are too and I seen and heard guys filling coolers. One guy had a fish fry scheduled and was doing white bass on the grill.Pan fish are every where like do-boy said. So get out and have fun and quit fighting in the forums. Get rid of that cabin fever. LOL
