Default Planting potatoes

I normally have enough potatoes left over from the previous year in my root cellar for the next year for planting but had a poor crop last year. With all the rain we had, the tops died off early and had a lot of small potatoes, too small to use.
Can I use the little potatoes for seed? (They're golf ball size). Should I double them up? Let me know what you think, I would just as soon buy seed potatoes than have total failure since we only get one shot this far north! Thanks

We do this every year, with good success.

Thanks Red1, do you double them up or plant closer if they only have a few eyes? I usually plant then about 10 inches apart!

As long as they have eyes or have started to sprout, just plant them as you normally do (I usually put one every foot or so, but 10 inches is good), same as if they're pieces of a larger seed potato.

Thanks Red, I'll plant what I have and give them a shot of 10-10-10 in between.
