Went out casting for Muskies, for 4 hours. Great day, water was 44-48. I would say the water is close to summer pool, maybe down 2-5 feet. Skunk'd but a fabulous day to get the boat out.

One thing for sure about musky fisherman is they have to be strong to throw baits all day long. I consider achievement a compliment since i take any fishing a serious matter. When i break for lunch i then troll for them!! I do get a little less excited when i have to go home though and when you consider i throw baits larger than some fish folks catch, achievement is a good thing, Dave
Yes there is something magical about a 42" fish, chasing my 12" lure, 6" under the water, 8" from the boat. That is some serious action.
I dont chase muskies but i agree 100%. Never got pumped up for a small saugeye to chase my bait or a bass. But man put a 40" plus fish an inch behind my spinnerbait comeing into the boat and my heart just starts pounding out of my chest! A very exciteing part about fishing!!
