Getting excited to get the boat in

Today for work I am up in Port Clinton and the Marblehead areas and seeing the lake has me very excited for the uncommonly fishing season. Hopefully this spring stays mild and allows boats to be in soon.

Seeing the lake has me wanting to ask everyone the techniques and tackle they use during the season to catch walleye? What do you use from when until when? Why do you change? What is most successful ?

Now to late Aprilyou can jig w/ hair jigs (available at any localtackle shop), or you can troll with Reef Runners & Deep Husky jerks. Early trolling is a big fish presentation and speeds down as low as 1 mph are required. Trolling bags are usually needed.

When the water gets around 50 degrees you can drift, cast or troll. Then trolling can be w/ harnesses, spoons or cranks, and speeds get up to around 2 or even above 2.
