Very nice harvest Frank!!! That's the post I was waiting for buddy, I'll be digging my in the next few days and I'll post my results. Do you cure your potatoes or just store them?

They were very nice and clean, no dirt clinging on them so we just put them in the basement in wooden baskets and covered them with a towel. Believe it or not we still have some from last year that are still good.

Well Frank I followed your lead and went digging today!!! I hand dug most of them then went through the bed with a shovel to see if I had missed a few strays and I did I found about a dozen more that were deep in the raised bed. I was hoping to find a monster one and I did!! As I tried to dig it out it ran right to the wood frame/board of the raised bed and I thought that it must of ended there.......I was wrong!!LOL.....then dang thing ran to the board then took a right turn along the board. When I slid the shovel along the board...I cut the dang thing in half!!......oh....us...amateurs. I have to upgrade my iPhone app since it's telling me that I must do so inorder to posts pics!

Catfishnut, here's the pics you asked me to post for you since you're having difficulties posting pics. It looks to me like you got a very nice yield from your bed of potatoes. You have a nice mix of large and smaller ones, the way mine usually are but this year for some reason mine were all large with only a few away from the main plant.

Thanks Frank!! For some reason some sites have upgraded the tapatalk app and left guys like me, who's iPhone is to old for further updates, behind and unable to post pics!!! So that potato in the lower left pic with the open wound, will it heal over and store well? Also how long will it be before they start sweeting up? I grew them last season but I'm getting old and can't remember how long it took for the starch to start turning to sugar.LOL

Hey Frank, I've got a whole three slips growing at one end of the potato that I was hoping would produce some. They're about 3" long with no leaves.....when should I try potting them up? And do you think more will come?.....it doesn't look like anymore are sprouting out.

All right Geoff, it's that time again. I would wait for them to get bigger and see what you get, they don't need leaves when you put them in water. Just cut them into 3 or 4 inch lengths and place them in a small glass or a babyfood jar with about 1 inch of water and keep it on a window sill. They'll start putting out roots in less than a week so there is no hurry, they grow fast and can't be planted until danger of frost is over anyway and yes, I think you'll get more out of it. Just keep it where you have been and you'll have plenty for next year.
Not to worry though, I'll have plenty for you for this year.

Yes, that potato should give you slips for next year too. It will continue to dry slowly as the slips take the moisture out of it. We keep several for this and they're kinda mixed up so I'm not sure, but I know some are over 2 years old and still putting out growth.
