Default Bula 7/21 afternoon

Went out from bula about 2pm and fished til 7pm with my 9 year old justin and we went 7 for 12 today. There are tons of marks from 65 to 73 ft. The worm bite this afternoon was slow and picked some 115 back 3oz purple double willows and the white bass were very hungry today! We went thru a ton of worms again and after the torture I put out a dipsy with a renosky for the last hr we fished and it got hit 7 times in that hr and we landed 4 of them. 155 back on 3 with no ring on dipsy. I had a 10 ft leader on and it was tough for my son to get the fish in close enough to net. Good luck if you get out,it is about to get good, tons of fish out there.

Sorry I never got back with you yesterday. We ended up with a three man ticket. The biggest was 29" The program was dipsy's 150 back on 3.5 setting with harnesses and 3oz in lines 140 back on boards. We fished from 1:00pm till 8:30pm a couple of doubles but never real hot and heavy. Caught about 100 white perch and one 12" yellow perch. Fished from 01 to 05 north line and 52 to 55 west line. Does anyone know how to get pics from cell phone to web site? Be gentle i am not real good on the computer. Thanks, Goose

I think I will break out the dipsy's next time up. I like running just the boards, but the guys using dipsy's were doing pretty good.

Rockytop, you need to go out with me someday and show me how to run multi dipsy's with out getting tangles! The weather sucks and saturday afternoon there was not a ripple on the lake. I don't think it got out of the 70's and was still smokin hot from the sun. See ya. CW

anytime Chuck let me know i have caught a fish or two on dipsys. most guys dont have problems setting lines. the big problem are the small fish like the white perch and small sheephead. they are a problem if you pull big boards, they slide down the line into the other lines. when pulling small boards they dont have the weight to pull the boards back. and they are a pain when they hit a dipsy. with big walleye they snap the band off the big boards and swing back to the middle, same with little boards and dipsys.

Bob,I can get them set but sometimes get a mess when trying to get fish in from the outside ones. Hope to get some good weather this weekend, the fish are there for the taking.

Justin is becoming a good little fisherman this year and feels pretty good on the lake. It is alot of work when I take him by myself, but he enjoys it alot. I sometimes have a hard time finding someone to go out on short notice, but don't have to ask him twice.

In a quick nutshell, separation and let them out slow! I like to pull my inside rod holders up while making turns to avoid tangles. Let your outsides out first and your insides second and point to the opposite corner of the boat so it won't go under your outside dipsy.

Thanks Toxic,I want to run 3 dipsy's per side with some shallow stick baits next time up if the white bass are bad. I like to relax sometimes when fishing and not check worms every two minutes.

good points and i would add just like with the boards, when you have a fish on the outside dipsy turn the boat about 10 to 15 degrees away from the side with the fish. this puts the fish behind the boat and start reeling in the fish.

That is where I screw up Rockytop, thanks. There is nothing worse than a dipsy tangled mess.
