Default Baha Cruiser owners...

Got a friend of mine Bought a 1993 28' Baha Cruiser last fall. He has a Raymarine A60 with DSM25 on it and a Aiirmar P79 shoot thru hull transducer. It will not look on to bottom. I was wondering if the Baha Cruiser's hull has a wood core in it. There is also a old Lowrance 350 onboard that will lock on sometimes but not all. All transducers are in the bilge area midship. If i place P79 overboard into water locks on good. I am thinking there is something in the hull blocking the signal.

Also, can you mount a transome mount ducer if you have twin inboard motors, and still work ok?

Thanks
Larry

Does the ducer's base/tank have fluid in it?

Yep, it is mounted correctly, just does not work were mounted. I moved transducer all over inside and could not get it to read thru the hull. Was using the bag of water as manual says to try all the spots. Thing that gets me is the old lowrance 350 transfucer is mounted right beside the p79. And it works most time.

I don't know Larry. I wouldn't have thought the Bajas had coring in their hulls. You might want to contact the company. If the tank has fluid in it (meaning, the the ducer is sitting in fluid), and if the hull is not cored, perhaps there is a short in the ducer cable that only works in some situations? I'm asusming there is no running gear below the ducer.

Nope no running gear under location, THing that gets me is the lowrance transducer works 75% of time, its located right beside the Airmar. this is really ticking me off. I just might try to contact someone with Baha. Thanks

By the way, do you have both ducers transmitting at the same time, on the same frequency?

Some hulls are just too dense and the only options are trsnsom Mt or through hull.
