So whats everyone think are we getting close to the spawn. Has anyone got a water temp from the weekend. I think it maybe time to get the boat out of my buddies pole building!
There is a site National Water Information Center.I put in Berlin Res and the water was almost 44.I am ready to go once my top comes in.Rainy days are the best.
Couple boats out sat mornin. One trolling and one drifting. Neither stayed in one spot. They were along the causeway then out in bays. Heard there were very few stragglers being caught. Warm weather after the rains will help.
Me & my Honey were out Sunday testing the boat & we did get our lines wet . Water temp was 40 - 41 . Wife talked to a guy getting boat out & he said he caught 3 crappies & 1 eye in shallow water
I was out Sunday for a few hours. Water temp was 41 in most spots. I did get a few readings as high as 45 in shallow water. A guy I talked to said he found water at almost 50 by willow creek. Can't wait to get back out and this time catch something. Lol
I always heard 45 degrees is the magic number. That said, I'd guess there are guys catching walleye out there now-and smartly keeping quiet abt it! The word will get out soon enough-always does.
Even though some people like to use a treble hook, which must look real tasty to a spawning walleye for them to be throwing a bare hook, what baits do you guys use to catch them?

any tips on Cuyahoga Falls out behind the Sheraton? That is mainly where I do most of my smallie fishin'.
I was at mosquito today and the lake temp averaged 43.5 just south of causeway to 40.5 tears the dam. The Walleye usually start spawning at 39 to 40 but kick it in gear at 42. The spawn should be in full swing by the end of the week.

Fished the causeway from 10pm to midnight. No fish... The wind was blasting out of the south so I only fished the north side. 1 boat anchored on the windy side of the bridge didn't stay long. Talked to a few that said they saw a few fish roll but none were caught. Lots of dead shad along the rocks.
Well with that new it sounds like i might want to get my boat out this weekend. Whats a good presentatio for this time of the year? I fished the spawn last year and caught
I was out on sunday. No takers from the north side of causeway. Threw hj's and jig n minnow at 'em. Didn't see anyone pulling anything in off the boats but a guy close to the causeway said they were marking a lot of fish about 100 yds off the shore. I've got to imagine that with the warm temps and warm rain it should heat things up real soon
We were hitton a few crappies last night at price st couple slabs at 11 to12 inches they r srartin to hit around 6 or 7 till dark then shut off but that should change with these warm temps they should be on fire by sat
Im still here. Just been staying with the woman on other side of town and she don't have internet over there yet....! Forgot to send in my paper for boat sticker...did that yesterday. Do know some people that were out in the boats Sunday and for a full day, they had one 16" eye. Guess I didn't miss much. This weekend may produce some good results, but without the sticker...I might have to hit the Ohio River instead......

Snake good to see ya on here, If I get the boat ready in time I will be heading out Sunday Morning... If I do I will probably have an open seat. I'll pm ya
Where's the best place to launch this time of year? Is the ramp at the bait shop open? Any idea of the water clarity with all this recent rain?

Bait shops are open and I was there last Sunday. Water looked similar to chocolate milk. I got to imagine it's not any clearer than it was. Good luck if you head out
