Default Buckeye Crappie 3/14/12

Wow what a day just to get out - The bite was not what I thought it would be but everything we caught was really nice. We got on the water about 8:30 and fished until 1:30. We eneded up with 16 crappie in the livewell. All were over 10 inches accept one. Two of them were a little over 13. The water temp was 58 when we left which was 12 degrees warmer than this past saturday. The wate is still very low so be carefully if you go.
11 of the fish had eggs and 3 of them were pretty milky which meant they could lay there eggs any time. Seems very odd for crappie in Ohio to be spawning in March.

CrappieWizard it was good to meet you again. I did lose the big one this time but right before we left my buddy did lose a monster. It hit a green tube out in the middle of the canal and got it to the boat when we saw had big it was. Went to grab the net but just as i did it came off.

Lol that's to bad. We ended up with 23 threw quite a few back. Had 5 over 13. But I did see one under a dock that was a giant. He just wouldn't bite. Hopefully you get that big one in the boat soon.

Nice work guys. I want to get the boat out over there at some point but since it would be my first time with the boat on the lake I may want to wait for the lake to come up a little before I do.

Snyd it was good fishing the same spot with you yestrday. (little green boat with trolling motor). I ended with 17 in the box, sounds like the same grade you had. Hope that was last trip without bigger boat. I will look for you next time.

fishin express - It was nice to meet you as well - I guess the one thing good about having the little boat you had out there was you didn't have to worry about tearing up your motor. I hope it didn't take you long getting back to the ramp. I will probably have my litle boy with me this weekend out on the water if the weather allows. I will keep an eye out for you.

No boat ramp, sister has a house on the way into that spot. Just drag across yard. Trying to get my boy out also. Should be alot more water after storms. Will be in center console express, dark green, 22 ft.

Fishin Express - Its always good to have someone you know that lives on the lake - I would make sure she never moves so you always have place to put the little boat in close to a good hot spot.
