Just a thought.if hunting on prvt ground take extra time to thank the landowner where u hunt,i work hunting retail and ran into alot of guys this year leasing ground to hunt.some out of state big city folk paying big bucks to hunt 10 acres. it would be a shame to see this great sport turn into a how much can u spend sport, loosing the real reason why we hunt.so if ya hunt on somone elses land take some time to stop by to say thanks,it goes a long way when its not deer season and out of the blue.just maybe when the land owner has a fat wallet knocking on his or her door the land owner will say somone else hunts here already
good tip!!! I have a friend that his Dad leased his land out to a neighbor and now his kids(grand kids) can't hunt there with out the lease owner permission...I am glad I have my own now

Too late! where you been man? Horn porn already ruined this sport! in another 10 years it will be Own, go public or pay. You see TX, OK and a lot of other southern states think we're wrong for NOT paying leases, we shouldn't hunt for free! You guy's need to get a load of these fools menality.
I argued with these arigant punks for years over on AT.
If I didn't have 11 YO that was interested in deer hunting I'd just quit & fish for saugeye in the fall.

LOL Horn porn. it is quite sad though. really, if it matters how many tines a deer has more than how much meat you are getting off of it, then why are you even hunting anyway?

Thats what im saying.its not texas here yet........lets not let it get that way.still alot of great hunters that hunt for reasons my father learned me,i talk to them everyday and i still hunt on alot of good folks land.WHERE YOU BEEN?fighting these folks for years isent long enough for me to give up the great sport.just putting the word out that it can happen here IF WE GIVE IN TO HORN PORN.besides, the trophy is in the eye of the beholder, most hunt for meat, and all the other things that go along with hunting, but horn porn is part of it too man
We're getting a lot of outfitters & out of state folks pulling the county maps, driving out & offering some big $$ to lease the hunting rights. That's why I ask. As a kid I used to work for most of the guys I hunt on and still help them out from time to time.
Doing small work & thanking folks is a great idea, but not as great as cashing a big check. Don't get me wrong, it's the land owners footing the bill & if they can profit from hunting they should be the first one doing so.
The out of state lease boy's aint going to be shooting the does, groundhogs & racoons.
I like to hunt big bucks too. I won't shoot the little guys but I'll drop every skin head I can to fill my tags.
The guides are buying land right now by the 100's of acres. I got offered a lot of money for my 11 acre plot......Some random guy pulled up and offered me money just like in the above post.
