I've seen it all at ramps. There should be a "launch" and "retrieve" lane distinction that comes into play during the meat of the day. Obviously common sense prevails here...early morning all lanes...

You can't go by the gage height to determine whether or not you can cross at Fort Meigs. Use 583' as your guide, but if the wind is out of the east or northeast, it'll stack up water in that stretch...

I use a 30# river style anchor (i.e. 3 fins) with 5' of heavy chain to the rode. If you can't hold with that....you need to fish somewhere else.

In my experience, the biggest jacks of the run show up first, then come the females, then come the smaller jacks. The big girls are in and out...they do not linger, but the jacks tend to hang around...
