I started bowhunting this year and have seen lots of deer.
Maybe 2 dozen 6 & 8 point bucks that looked like 2 1/2 yr olds and most had an eyeball on me as I watched them.

One older 8 point caught me in an open pasture and I froze as he walked past watching me. As he got straight away I drew and he came unwound.

I am still learning this bowhunting stuff and hope to improve my shooting next year and make more preparations before bow season.

A week ago (or so), a guy went off on the lack of "fish" in Northeastern Ohio. Something was said about the water clarity (or lack thereof) at Nimisila Resevoir. Wasn't there a project by the ODNR to eradicate, via herbacide, the overgrowth of weeds about 1 to 1 1/2 years ago?

It seems to me that there are more lily pads than there used to be and a lot less "traditional" weeds. You are around Nimi more than I am, so I ask, "what's your take?"

I've done well this year with pan fish although crappie numbers are down, and haven't been able to put together a consistent bass pattern yet this year. When I've caught bass, they have been much smaller than the past 3 years.

By the way, I am a C&R guy, although I will take some 'gills just to thin out the herd. Let me know what you think as I value your opinions and observations!
