    PART 2

You fish a lot and I suspect you'll want to bring along a minnow bucket, fish finder and have room for multiple rods, so I'd recommend a SOT. Look for one that has rod storage below the deck, will hold a milk crate or 5 gallon bucket behind you and would have spots to mount rod holders and your fish finder. Jackson has another excellent SOT angler called the Coosa made for creeks and streams and a huge barge called the Big Tuna. It's a tandem kayak that can be converted into a single and has a built in live well that circulates lake water to keep your bait or catch alive. Jackson has good videos demonstrating the Cuda and Coosa on their website.

If you like we can meet up and take two of my kayaks out, do a little fishing and you can try them both out to decide for yourself, as long as you don't mind loading and unloading them.

    I hope this was helpful,

    Steve

PART 1 I started out with two sit in's, the Vapor and Ascend and converted them into fishing kayaks because it was much cheaper to do that than to buy one already set up for angling. On the lake they keep me dryer and warmer in the winter than a SOT would, my goal is to fish out of them until the lakes freeze over. My Vapor is still my favorite kayak to paddle.

I bought my Jackson Cuda specifically to go fishing on the Outer Banks, both in the sounds and near shore. It's the only kayak I've bought that was angler ready, I only added Scotty rod holders. It's a real gem for fishing flat water, the seat is really amazing but it's 4 1/2 ' longer than the other two and weighs 73 pounds empty. I'm so beat up right now I cant load/unload it by myself. It also cost nearly 3x what the other two did. It is by far the best angling platform I have though.

Would you reccommend a sit in or sit on kayak for fishing, I noticed you have a sit on, any reason for that other than it is easier to get in and out.
