Something you said that makes me wonder, "you can't go without EMERALDS"?
We only got out 7 times for perch last year, (couldn't find 4 guys to go) but when Snug Harbor raised the price to OVER $2.50 a dozen, and then ran out 3 or 4 times, We started buying fatheads from Mosquito!
All 7 times, 4 man LIMITS. Only one day was slow, but for everyone out there.
We buy the large fatheads and CUT THEM IN HALF, put them on a gold or red hook crappie rig style or use a Sabiki rig. Seems like the perch really love the blood and guts and it seems to start a feeding frenzy. Works for us,,, and WE JUST LOVE TO DRIVE PASS "DUTCH HARBOR'.
If we do buy emeralds, we'll go to ASH and buy 20 - 30 doz. and make our own dried-out 'salties' for those tough days of summer.

I have my big boat in the shop and we are dieing for a perch trip out of Conny or Ash. Please get back to us, or leave a report if you go. We all live in the New Middletown area and are always looking for a guy or two to fill the boat. Probably go right pass you, on the way up.
We just retired too, and try to fish AT LEAST Twice a week.
Were looking for a lot to buy, somewhere near the lake, where we do a lot of Steel, perch, smallmouth, red eyes, walleyes fishing. like near the ASH river. We want to put our trailer up there and or park the boat.
