Ohio Game Fishing held our 6th annual Vermilion Hawg Fest this pastSeptember, with a record attendance and some true hawg walleye brought to the scales.
The winning bag was brought to the scales by the team lead by captain Keith Powell, with a total weight of 37.24 lbs for 5 fish. The big fish pot was awarded to the team lead by captain Dave Jerkins with a pig 11.05 lb. walleye brought to the scale. To view the complete results, click here.

Ohio Game Fishing and Microspoons present the 5th annual OGF Open Crappie Tournament. We're back at Delware Lake on Saturday, May 9th 2009 for another go at those slabs. Registration is limited to the first 50 teams, so register your team today as it will fill up quickly!
We're also pleased that Land Big Fish and Microspoons are back as tournament sponsors again this year! Land Big Fish has donated (2) $75 gift cards to be awarded to the 1st place team, as well as (10) $15 gift cards for a random drawing of all tournament anglers. Microspoons will be providing sample packs of spoons for each team.

Ohio Game Fishing congratulates OGF member Fishingredhawk for winning our 2008 Angler of the Year contest! Sponsored by South Shore Marine, This is the 3rd year for the contest, in which the contestants are nominated and selected by fellow OGF members for the award. Fishingredhawk will recieve a personalized "Angler of the Year" plaque, OGF Gear, and of course bragging rights for the next year.
In a race that went to the last minute, Fishingredhawk won by a 1 vote margin over Lake Erie fisherman KGoneFishing. It was a dead heat up until voting closed at midnight, with Fishingredhawk coming out at the victor when the polls closed. The votes were counted by 7 individual staff members numerous times to ensure there were no errors, and all hanging/swinging chads have been accounted for.
Congratulations Mike on winning a deserving title, and our hats off to Kevin as well for making this an extremely exciting contest to watch.

Ohio Game Fishing (OGF) is proud to announce the details for the 2008 Vermilion Hawgfest to be held on Saturday September 20th in the great city of Vermilion.The 2008 Hawgfest is brought to you by The City Of Vermilion, Evinrude, Sharpnack II Chevrolet, South Shore Marine, Starcraft and WKYC TV-3.
This is the fifth annual event and all indications are that the 105 boat field will be filled quickly,so don't delay your registration.
The Hawgfest has quickly become the premier open Walleye tournament on Lake Erie.
This is such a unique event in that it is open to any size team from 2 to 6 people.There is also a reduced entry fee for the 2 person teams.
We wrap up and highlight this event with a catered dinner, awards ceremony and party held after the weigh in.The top finishing teams will receive their awards and share how they caught their winning catch. The awards dinner is also open for friends and family that don't fish the tournament.
